  • Metronidazole is a synthetic antibacterial and antiprotozoal agent. It is used to treat infections such as gingivitis, wound infections, and giardiasis.

  • Milbemycin is used for control of internal parasites. Your veterinarian has prescribed this medication for the prevention of heartworm infection.

  • Mitotane is used for treating Cushing's syndrome. Mitotane reduces the amount of cortisone like hormones produced by the adrenal cortex.

  • Mitratapide is used to help reduce weight in dogs. Your veterinarian may prescribe mitratapide if your pet is obese or overweight.

  • Nandrolone is an anabolic steroid. Anabolic steroids are synthetic forms of the male hormone testosterone.

  • Nicergoline increases the blood flow to the brain. It is used in older dogs to improve age-related disorders such as dullness and lethargy.

  • Nimesulide is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent used to relieve pain and inflammation. Your veterinary surgeon may prescribe nimesulide to reduce pain in arthritis.

  • Nitenpyram is used for the control of the fleas on dogs and cats. It kills adult fleas. You may also need to control the larval stages of fleas in the environment.

  • Nizatidine is used for stomach or intestinal ulcers. Reduced gastric acid production allows an ulcer to heal. Nizatidine has also been used to treat gastritis and other reflux and hypersecretory conditions.

  • NSAIDs are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. They are used to treat mild to moderate pain, to reduce inflammation and to reduce fever.
